Meet Landon

My vitiligo appeared when I was young.

I was too young to understand what was happening. It was harder for my parents than for me.

They tried to find various doctors, find more info online, and different treatments to try to help me. I grew up with it learning to accept it and making it apart of me. As I got older, people began to ask questions and stared. It was too difficult to explain so I just said it was “burns”. Sometimes ignorant parents would ask what had happened and it really bothered me. In my teenage years, it got better and I continued to work on myself and accept my vitiligo as part of my identity. I am special and unique and want to embrace that.

As I continue to grow and evolve as a young adult, I am faced with different situations (college, work). I am working to navigate various stages in my life and learning to embrace while staying true to my self. Beauty comes from within. When we stop focusing on the outside so much, we find the peace we all yearn for.
